The iconic symbol of the city! Embark on the 15-minute walk to the top of the hill and be greeted by striking views of the city below. The castle is also home to the Museum of History, Baroque gardens located at the castle’s rear, and a café that overlooks the Old Town, perfect for a refreshment before descending back down.
Resembling a flying saucer at the end of the SNP Bridge, the UFO Tower is another way to see the city from a bird’s-eye-view. Travel upwards 95 metres in the elevator to reach the observation deck, and there’s even the option to enjoy the scenery with a cocktail in the bar or a meal at the tower’s restaurant.
This 18th century palace provides a glimpse of how life used to be back then, painting the picture with tapestries from the 17th century and period furniture from the 19th century. The Hall of Mirrors is the main attraction here.
Take some time out of your day to marvel at the unique Art Nouveau church which boasts a fairytale-like aura thanks to its whimsical façade and mesmerising interiors. The outside is painted light blue with dark blue roof tiles and white accents, making it a must for your camera roll.
If you love Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, you’ll adore Bratislava’s St. Michael’s Gate. Signifying the entrance to the pedestrian area of the Old Town, it’s the only city gate that has been preserved since Medieval times and has a tower with a weapons museum worth perusing.
While Bratislava is by no means a heaving city that you’ll be desperate to get respite from, Horsky Park is the ideal place to take a stroll surrounded by greenery and beautiful flowers. Cyclists and dog walkers frequent the area.
