Family service and authentic cuisine awaits in zum Alten Stephan, Solothurn’s oldest restaurant. The restaurant’s motto is ‘simple, but really good’, and the menu lives up to this claim, serving up straightforward yet stupendous dishes based on classic Swiss dishes and made from locally sourced ingredients. The house classics of veal Cordon Bleu (stuffed with gorgonzola) or pan-fried Dover sole are particularly excellent. Open Tuesday to Friday 11am to 2pm and 6pm to 11pm, and Saturday 10am to 2pm and 6pm to 11pm.
