One of Lisbon’s most iconic cafes, and one of its oldest (opened in 1782), Martinho da Arcada is a bit of a historic attraction, as well as a very fine cafe and restaurant. Boasting a beautiful terrace overlooking the river, the cafe has been at the centre of Lisbon’s political and literary scene for years, and even has an homage to Fernando Pessoa, one of Lisbon’s most famous writers, in his favourite corner. Aside from all the history, the coffee, cakes and seafood mains are all top notch as well! Open for lunch 12pm to 3pm while dinner is served from 7pm to 10pm.
