When it comes to decor, Caffe Florian truly can’t be beat. It’s been open since 1720 as a wine and coffee house, and in the 1700s was one of Casanova’s favourite places to work his charm. Nowadays it hosts various art and musical exhibitions, though its ornate Baroque interior is a spectacle on its own. The prices here are a bit higher than regular cafes in Venice — but it’s worth it! — and you’ll pay less if you opt to sit at the bar. Open daily 9am to midnight.
