In the small town of Lemgo, a 45-minute drive from Bielefeld, you’ll find the most interesting house you’ll probably ever see. Built by Karl Junker, a 19th century architect who lived with schizophrenia, the building is a reflection i of what was going on inside his mind. Incredibly intricate carvings cover the whole house, with ceiling murals, a dramatic curved staircase, and hand-carved furniture. Truly a unique sight. Open Friday to Sunday 11am to 3pm.
