The Rennsteig Trail is all about history and tradition. This 110-mile trail is steeped in historical significance and, at over 700 years old, is Germany’s oldest hiking route. The trail runs from Eisenach and the Werra Valley in the northeast, to Blankenstein and the Selbitz river in the southwest. Although over 100,000 hikers a year seek out this marvellous route, you’re guaranteed a feeling of seclusion within the seemingly infinite forests that surround it.
