The Zeiss Planetarium in Jena is a scientific and historical marvel. In continuous operation for over 90 years, it is the oldest working planetarium in the world, and has been revolutionary since its construction. When it was built, its thin-walled dome was unique, and represented a milestone in architectural history. Today, visitors to the planetarium can experience a ‘star theatre’ using cutting edge technology to view the solar system, as well as admire the beautiful and historic architecture. Open Tuesday to Thursday 10am to 1.30pm and 7pm to 8pm, Friday 11am to 12pm and 7pm to 8pm, Saturday 2pm to 8pm, and Sunday 1pm to 6pm.
